The MARUG Master Team (MMT) is a team consisting of Master Marketing students who will organize three events specifically targeted towards their fellow Master Marketing students.
The purpose of the events is to introduce students to the dynamic world of marketing and giving them a better idea of what working in marketing actually entails. All events include workshops and lectures of well known marketing firms. Over the years it has shown that both students and businesses are interested in the events of the MMT.
Due to the busy lives of Master students the events are limited to three, high quality events. Besides the informative aspect, all events also meet the needs of both businesses and students concerning recruitment. As a member of the MMT you will participate in the organization of all three events and contribute to an interesting, creative, inspiring day for your fellow Master Marketing students.
Another function of the MMT is being the ‘voice of students’ towards the Marketing Department. The MMT Chairman will represent all students during meetings with the Marketing Department. Any comment concerning course organizations, exams, or other marketing, study related issues will be discussed and solved. It is one of the goals of the MMT to make studying the Master Marketing pleasant for everyone. The MMT will furthermore encourage social activities among Master Marketing students and support all master students in their career paths were possible.

Underneath you can find a short description of all different functions within the MARUG Master Team.
Chairman
As chairman you have to make sure that all team members take responsibilities for their tasks in order to end up with a positive result: a successful event. Furthermore this function entails a variety of operational tasks namely; planning of team meetings and more general as well as unexpected tasks. Of course it is very important to make sure the atmosphere within the team is optimal and that all team members can perform at there best. It is your task to keep all members devoted and motivated. “Keep the spirit high”. As a chairman you are also the contact person between the Marketing Department and the students. You will attend meetings with staff members of the Marketing Department and participate in discussions concerning the Master Marketing. The MARUG board will also be in contact with you concerning updates on the events as well as being a support to the MMT. Last but not least are you the one to create a plan of operations in order for the event planning to run smoothly and for all team members to know what to do, which includes deadlines. You are their timekeeper concerning deadlines.
External Affairs
The function of External Affairs consists mainly of approaching companies in order to promote the MARUG Master Events and convince them to participate as well as sponsor the events. Besides filling up the lectures and workshops it is your responsibility to take care of product sponsoring. This is a perfect way to introduce products to our students and promote a brand or company. Due to the amount of work and importance of this task, this function is performed by two members. Within this function you will be in close contact to the External Affairs of the MARUG board who will support you and teach you all tricks there are to know.
PR & Promotion
The function of PR/Promo is a function where you can spend all your creativity. The goal is to create overall awareness among all Marketing Master students for the activities of the MMT, as well as specific attention to an upcoming event. Being a Master Marketing student yourself , word of mouth is an important and effective tool here.
Together with the other team members you think of different, creative ways to bring the MMT activities to the attention of all fellow Master Marketing students.
Secretary & Day Organisation (DO)
As a Secretary you are responsible for general tasks for example: taking notes during meetings, incoming mail as well as keeping track on all ‘things-to-do’ of other team members.
The function of DO includes all operations in order for the day of the event to run smoothly. You are the contact person concerning the location and catering and will compose a roadmap for the day of the events in order for all team members to know their tasks.
Furthermore will you assist all team members were possible. At the end we are all one team.
Sub-functions
The function of Treasurer is a joint performance of the Secretary and Chairman. The Treasurer will be responsible for keeping track of incoming and outgoing money; the budget. This will be done in cooperation with the Treasurer of the MARUG board.
