Conference Day Organisation

As part of the MARUG Conference Day Organisation Committee, you will play a key role in coordinating the largest student marketing conference in the Netherlands. Each year, around 500 students and business professionals attend this event, featuring inspiring keynote speakers and interactive workshops centered on a contemporary marketing theme. Previous themes include Contagious Content, The Jungle of Data, and The Era of Gen Z: Change of Consumer Behavior. As a committee member, you will support the Conference Board in the final months leading up to the event, taking on your own responsibilities while contributing creative ideas. Together, you will ensure that the conference runs flawlessly on February 24th. The committee consists of four members, each fulfilling one of the following functions:

Technical

The Technical function oversees all audiovisual and technical aspects of the MARUG Conference. Your responsibilities include creating introductory videos for the speakers, preparing a detailed technical script for the lights, sound, and screen content, and ensuring that all equipment operates smoothly on the day itself. You will work closely with the Conference Board to guarantee a professional and polished experience for both speakers and attendees.

Acquisition & Media

This combined role focuses on two core areas:

Acquisition:
You will support the External Relations members of the Conference Board with partner communication and acquisition efforts. 

Media:
On the media side, you will help shape the conference’s visual and video content. This includes helping to create promotional materials and supporting the Technical function where needed. In addition, you will contribute to the organization of the promotional stunt together with your fellow committee members.

PR

As the PR officer, you will assist the PR and Promotion members of the Conference Board in executing the social media and communications strategy. You are responsible for promotional content, board clothing, and managing tasks related to the promotional lecture. You will also collaborate with the Logistics function on elements such as the “playground” area at the event, ensuring engaging and cohesive promotion throughout the campaign.

Logistics

The Logistics function is one of the most varied roles in the committee. Your tasks include arranging hotel stays for speakers, coordinating transportation during the event, and booking entertainment such as a band for the conference. Additionally, you will oversee the “playground” area in collaboration with the PR function and work closely with the Day Organisation member of the Conference Board to ensure that every operational detail is in place.
