Conference Day Organisation

As part of the MARUG Conference Day Organisation committee, you'll play a key role in orchestrating the largest student marketing conference in the Netherlands. Each year, roughly 500 students and business professionals attend this event, which features keynote speakers and workshops centered around a relevant marketing theme. Past themes include "Contagious Content," "The Jungle of Data," and "The Era of Gen Z: Change of Consumer Behavior."

As a committee member, you'll make an important contribution in the final months leading up to the MARUG Conference. Your tasks will involve assisting the Conference Board with organization, and you'll have the opportunity to contribute your own ideas and take on specific responsibilities, allowing you to put your own spin on the conference. As a committee, you'll oversee aspects like promotional day activities, securing sponsorships, and coordinating catering for the event. Together with the Conference Board, you'll ensure everything runs smoothly on February 24th.

The Day Organisation Committee consists of four members who fill the following positions:

  • Logistics: This is one of the most diverse roles within the committee. Your responsibilities include arranging hotel accommodations for speakers, coordinating transportation during the event, and booking a band to perform at the conference. You'll also collaborate with the Promotion function on the "playground" area and partner with the Day Organisation role from the Conference Board.

  • Promotion: In this role, you'll assist the PR and Promotion members of the Conference Board with their social media strategy. You'll also be responsible for the promotional stunt and board clothing. Alongside the Logistics function, you'll manage the "playground" area, and you'll handle tasks related to the promotional lecture.

  • Acquisition: Your primary focus in Acquisition will be on two key areas of the conference. First, you'll assist the two external relations members of the Conference Board with their acquisition efforts and communication with partners. Second, you'll be responsible for ensuring the goodie bags are filled with sponsored products. Furthermore, you'll contribute to the organization of the conference's promotional stunt alongside your fellow committee members.

  • Media: The Media function is responsible for creating introductory videos for the speakers at the conference. You'll also oversee all technical aspects on the day of the event, including developing a technical script that outlines the timing for lights, sound, and videos during the conference itself. As mentioned, you'll also be partly responsible for organizing the promotional stunt with your fellow committee members.
